CDI Tracks End Early Close to Betting

All racetracks operated by Churchill Downs Inc. will revert to the normal wagering cut-off time by accepting wagers up until the starting gate opens.

Since last November, some CDI tracks have closed wagering with "zero" minutes to post, usually about 90 seconds before a race starts, in response to last year's Breeders' Cup Ultra Pick 6 scandal."

"CDI implemented interim wagering security measures last fall to
maintain customer confidence as the entire horseracing industry addressed concerns about totalisator systems security," said CDI chief operating officer John Long. "Since that time, the tote vendors that process our pari-mutuel wagers have made positive improvements to their security systems and have been able to reduce the amount of time required to transmit wagering data from simulcast sites to racetrack tote hubs."
