Jockey Tony Farina, who rode Brancusi, was upset with criticism leveled at him after a foul claim by jockey Kent Desormeaux, aboard Crowned Dancer in Saturday's Toyota Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland.
"As far as the incident that took place Saturday in the Blue Grass Stakes," Farina said through his agent and interpreter Derek Lawson, "Brancusi never touched any of the other horses and was well clear of the incident that took place between Kent Desormeaux and Larry Melancon (aboard Great Notion).
"I went to see the films with the stewards and several riders that were in the race, including (Edgar) Prado, (Pat) Day and Desormeaux and in all the angles that we viewed, he never once touched Crowned Dancer or Great Notion."
