(Edited press release)
For the second consecutive year, Bollam, Sheedy, Torani & Co. will underwrite the Thanksgiving holiday dinner that will be served to backstretch workers by the Backstretch Employee Service Team.
The dinner will take place Nov. 24 at the backstretch kitchens of both Aqueduct and Belmont Park and will serve more than 500 workers.
“We are delighted once again to underwrite the B.E.S.T holiday dinner,” said Joe Torani, managing partner of BST. “This event will serve a Thanksgiving meal to hundreds of workers, many of them far from home, so we are happy to provide the financial support.”
B.E.S.T. provides a full range of health and human services to support workers in the barn areas of the New York Racing Association tracks. Their programs include on-site primary care health clinics, health benefits, and counseling services.
“We are again extremely grateful to BST for stepping forward with the donation to B.E.S.T.,” said Cate Dolan, president of B.E.S.T. “Their support makes it possible for us to provide a Thanksgiving celebration for the hardworking folks on the backstretch.”
