A triple dead-heat for fourth in the night race at
Penn National Race Course on Saturday resulted in three separate superfecta payoffs for tickets correctly having the first-fourth place winners. Winner of the one-mile-and-70-yard race was Raggaas Leaf, who paid $29.80 to win. Jade For Joy finished second and Two For A Penny was third. Then the placing judges and photo finish cameras went to work as Steel Toe Shoes, Exclusive Reason, and Peace Bridge all charged to the wire at the same time. After 15 minutes of examining the photo, the judges were unable to separate the trio. The 1-3-2-6 superfecta payoff with Steel Toe Shoes was $1,398; the 1-3-2-7 combination, completed by Exclusive Reason, returned $1,863.40, and the 1-3-2-9 ticket with Peace Bridge, was worth $2,794.
