During its current spring meet, Keeneland will offer free admission to three separate groups of people. On April 13 University of Kentucky staff will be admitted to the track for free; on April 18 the track again hosts College Day, when any student with a valid university identification card receives free admission; and on April 19 the track will acknowledge many of the individuals who helped Lexington recover from the ice storm in March with free entry.

College Day is a regular event during each meet, but the April 19 "Ice Storm Worker Appreciation Day" is a special circumstance. Employees of Kentucky Utilities, Blue Grass Energy, the Lexington Emergency Operations Center, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, and the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government receive free admission with valid employment identification.

Free admission for these individuals on all three days require entry through the East Grandstand Entrance.

In conjunction with College Day, Keeneland will give away 10 $1,000 scholarships. Any student who presents a valid ID and completes the necessary forms will be eligible for the drawing. One will take place after each of Keeneland's nine races. The tenth scholarship goes to a student whose parents worked in the Thoroughbred industry. The scholarship giveaway is co-sponsored by the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association.
