Valid Wager to California

First-crop stallion Valid Wager has been bought by Tom and Debi Stull from Harry Mangurian Jr.'s Mockingbird Farm. The couple will stand the 8-year-old stallion for $7,500 live foal at their Tommy Town Thoroughbreds near Santa Ynez, Calif. Valid Wager stood for $6,000 at Mockingbird near Ocala, Fla., in 2000.
Valid Wager (Valid Appeal -- Bid Gal, by Bold Bidder) ranks in the number 10 spot on the freshman sire list by progeny earnings. He is represented by 10 winners, including Major Wager, who ran third in the Oct. 15 Astarita Stakes (gr. II).
