Odds on Buddy Gil, winner of the Santa Anita Derby (gr. I), dropped from 25-1 to 15-1 as Pool 3 wound down Saturday on the eve of the final day for the 2003 Kentucky Derby Future Wager.

Ten Most Wanted, who showed a strong stretch kick to win the Illinois Derby (gr. II) convincingly Saturday, is still a juicy 30-1.

As the KDFW heads into the final day, Florida Derby (gr. I) winner Empire Maker still is favored, although the odds continue to rise slightly. The Bobby Frankel-trained son of Unbridled is 4-1.

Wagering closes at 6:30 p.m. EDT on Sunday. the Kentucky Derby (gr. I) is May 3.

If anything, Saturday's results may have weakened bettors' resolve. The field entry among the 23 betting interests continued to fall and closed Saturday at 5-1.
