I Want Revenge  , a leading Triple Crown candidate by virtue of his 8 1/2-length victory in the Gotham Stakes (gr. III) at Aqueduct on  March 7, worked a bullet five furlongs handily in :58.20 on March 22 on the Cushion Track at Hollywood Park.

Trainer Jeff Mullins originally planned to keep I Want Revenge in New York with trainer Anthony Dutrow, but the plan was changed to head back to California and prepare for Aqueduct's $750,000 Wood Memorial (gr. I) for 3-year-olds at nine furlongs on April 4.

“He went well, and everything looks good,” Mullins said. Joe Talamo was aboard for the workout.

Clocker Donald Harris of Horseplayerpro.com reported that I Want Revenge came on the track at 7:12 a.m. to work in company with I Want My Money, another 3-year-old colt, and "was on the muscle immediately."

I Want Money broke off two lengths in front and added another length in the early part of the drill as I Want Revenge relaxed nicely, Harris noted.

"On the turn, rider Joe Talamo had his feet firmly in the dashboard as ‘Revenge clearly wanted to reel in his work-mate.  At the top of the stretch, Talamo positioned I Want Revenge on the rail. In the stretch, the Wood Memorial candidate cruised by his work-mate on the rail without being asked, showcasing strong strides to the wire," Harris said.

The timer reported that I Want Revenge galloped out six furlongs in 1:11.20. "The final three furlongs went in :34.60, very impressive. This professional runner was all business," he said.
