OBS Catalogues 1,236 Juveniles For April Sale

The catalogue for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's April sale of 2-year-olds in training is slightly larger than it was a year ago. There are 1,236 horses listed, up 2.1% from the total of 1,210 in 2002. The auction will be conducted in Central Florida April 22-25.
Last year, 673 juveniles were sold for a gross of $15,332,100, an average of $22,782, and a median of $15,000. Compared to the previous year's figures, the number sold, gross, and average decreased 1.8%, 15.1%, and 13.6%, respectively. The median was the same. The downturn in average ended a string of eight consecutive years of growth.
The under tack show begins April 16 and continues through April 19. All sessions start at 9 a.m (EST).
