Three months into its four-month meeting, Santa Anita Park will finally have its races shown in Southern California on a nightly replay program. KDOC, an independent station out of Anaheim, will begin broadcasting Santa Anita replays March 26 at 7:30 p.m. The program will air five nights a week through the remainder of the meeting.

For years, KDOC presented a nightly replay show featuring races from Santa Anita, Hollywood Park, Fairplex Park, and Del Mar. Last summer, however, Del Mar's races were not shown, although KDOC did present a show for Hollywood's fall meeting. Replays have been telecast on FOX Sports Net, but that show aired nightly at 1:30 a.m.

The new KDOC agreement also includes Oak Tree, Fairplex, and Hollywood Park's two meetings. Each will have replay shows airing at 7:30 p.m., except Sundays when KDOC has a prior commitment and the races will be shown at midnight. Del Mar is not included in the new deal.

The California Marketing Committee, whose purpose it is to increase the visibility of racing in media throughout the state, is playing a significant role in underwriting the program, which traditionally has been one of KDOC's most-watched shows. New management at the station aided the return of the racing show.
