Grade I winner Roman Ruler, whose first two winners won outside the United States, was represented by three winners in the U.S. July 5. Rickyontherun won at Delaware Park; Roman Counsel scored at Hollywood Park; and Vivid Colors proved victorious at Churchill Downs.

Rickyontherun won at 4 1/2 furlongs by three-quarters of a length in :53.28 for Pecoraro Racing Stable. Bred in Kentucky by Gulf Coast Farms, the colt is out of the Tabasco Cat mare Cateress.

Roman Counsel captured a five-furlong race by 1 3/4 lengths in :58.92 for Heinz Steinmann. Bred in California by Sunset Stables, the colt is out of the Swiss Yodeler mare Marie’s Rose.

Vivid Colors, a filly owned by Grosse Pointe Farm, scored by 5 3/4 lengths in 1:11.40 for six furlongs. Bred in Kentucky by Jerry Jamgotchian, Vivid Colors is out of the Unbridled's Song mare Scene Maker.

Roman Ruler, who was represented by earlier winners in Mexico and Puerto Rico, stands for $20,000 at John Sikura’s Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms near Lexington. He is by Fusaichi Pegasus   out of Silvery Swan (by Silver Deputy).
