Classic hopeful Offlee Wild breezed five furlongs in 1:01 over a fast main track at Gulfstream Park Friday in preparation for the April 12 Blue Grass Stakes (gr. I) at Keeneland. The move was the fifth fastest of 15 at the distance.

"He worked okay," said trainer, T.V. Smith. "We don't know if we're going to ship out the first part of this coming week or wait and go the following week. If we wait, then we'll work him one more time before he goes to Keeneland."

Offlee Wild made a big noise in the 3-year-old division at Gulfstream Park at the beginning of the meet with a narrow win in the Holy Bull (gr. III) stakes on January 18.

Sent off as the co-favored second choice in the Fountain of Youth stakes (gr. I) in his next start, the son of Wild Again disappointed with a fourth-place finish. He was then forced to miss the Florida Derby (gr. I) due to illness.

"Getting sick set him back," Smith said. "He has been getting stronger lately and seems to be coming back and heading in the right direction. Everyday he is on the improve."
