Undefeated champion Vindication has responded well to treatment and is ready to resume training. The son of Seattle Slew has been sent to Satish and Anne Sanan's Padua Stables' training center near Summerfield, Fla.
Vindication underwent hyperbaric oxygen therapy and stem cell therapy at the Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Center near Los Olivos, Calif., in hopes of aiding his recovery from a suspensory injury. Vindication, who arrived at the clinic Feb. 10, was "a tremendous patient and responded very well to treatment," said Dr. Doug Herthel.
"Vindication has exceeded Dr. Herthel's every expectation," said Nadia Sanan. "My family and I have every indication that Vindication will take up where he left off."
Vindication, who was produced from the Strawberry Road mare Strawberry Reason, hasn't raced since he won the Bessemer Trust Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) last October, No timetable has been sent for a return to trainer Bob Baffert. Vindication's major goal is the Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I).
