Hold That Tiger Still On Course For Two Thousand Guineas

Michael Tabor, owner of Hold That Tiger, said the son of Storm Cat is still being pointed for the Two Thousand Guineas. As a result, British bookmakers have lowered the odds on the son of Storm Cat.

Tabor did leave the door slightly ajar, telling the Racing Post, "Hold That Tiger is our Guineas horse at the moment. Things can always change, but I don't think this will."

In England, William Hill, Coral and the Tote cut his Guineas odds from 5-1 to 7-2, while Ladbrokes and Victor Chandler lowered him from 5-1 to 4-1.

Trainer Aidan O'Brien, who captured last year's Guineas with Rock of Gibraltar, has 25 horses nominated this year.

Two of O'Brien's 3-year-olds who are nominated to the American Triple Crown, Tomahawk and Delacroix, are scheduled to run in Sunday's 7-furlong Oak Lodge Sires Loughbrown Stakes at the Curragh. Tomahawk, second in the group I Dewhurst Stakes and Middle Park Stakes, finished eighth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, just one week after finishing second in the Dewhurst.

O'Brien said that although he has nominated several horses to Saturday's Lane's End Stakes at Turfway Park, none will be compete. His prospects for the Kentucky Derby, if any, have yet to be decided.

Hold That Tiger captured last year's Grand Criterium at Longchamp before finishing a fast-closing third in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile.
