The winner of this year's training title at Hollywood Park will get more than the most digits in the win column and a sense of satisfaction. He or she will also get a trip to Tahiti. The prize is part of an incentive package put together by the racetrack in partnership with Air Tahiti Nui. A pair of round-trip business class tickets on Air Tahiti Nui from Los Angeles International Airport to the island of Bora Bora via Papeete, Tahiti, plus five nights at a luxury hotel in Bora Bora will be awarded the winning trainers after the spring/summer meet which runs from April 23 through July 20. The recipients will emerge from competition in three categories: (a) most wins during the Spring/Summer Meet; (b) most points accumulated in claiming races, and (c) most points accumulated in races for 2-year-olds."While it's obviously an honor for a trainer to win a meet training title, our new sponsorship agreement with Air Tahiti Nui provides added incentive," racing secretary Martin Panza said. "And the two additional categories give trainers with more specialized stables a chance to compete for these trips as well."Rules for competitions in Hollywood Park's Trainers' Challenge:Category A--Leading Trainer Challenge--Winner will be the trainer with the most wins during Hollywood Park's 2003 Spring/Summer Meet. The Challenge categories will be preferred as follows: Category A, then Category B, then Category C. If any trainer happens to win more than one of these categories, the award will be given to the highest preferred category with the trainer relinquishing the award in a less preferred category. For example, if a trainer wins Categories A and C, A would be the preferred category. Hence, that trainer would be awarded the prize in Category A with the Category C runner-up being awarded the prize in that category. The awarded trips must be booked at least two weeks in advance and are based on availability. Travel arrangements must be made through the Hollywood Park Racing Office. The awards must be used within an allotted period of time or the award will expire. Contact Hollywood Park's Racing Office at (310) 419-1684 for further information.
