Hip# 342; colt; Storm Cat - Fleet Indian by Indian Charlie brought $2,050,000 at the Keeneland September yearling sale.

A striking son of Storm Cat produced from the champion mare Fleet Indian was purchased by agent John Ferguson for $2,050,000, the top price during the first two days of the Keeneland September yearling sale.

Consigned to the Sept. 15 second day of the 14-day auction by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent, Hip No. 342 has been named Storm ‘n Indian. The colt was bred by Summer Wind Farm.

Ferguson, who represents Sheikh Mohammed and is the leading buyer at the Keeneland sale, was effusive in his praise of the colt.

"Fleet Indian is a champion mare, Storm Cat is a great horse," Ferguson said. "Hats off to Summer Wind which sold the sale topper at Saratoga and now this horse. He's very athletic, moves well, [and] has a great pedigree. I think he has a lot of Storm Cat about him."

The colt, from the last full crop of Storm Cat, was produced from Fleet Indian, who had 13 wins in 19 starts and earned $1,704,513. She was voted champion older mare after winning the grade I Beldame and Personal Ensign, among other graded stakes.
