Colorful Tour wins the Razorback Handicap.
Irish Acres Farm's front-running Colorful Tour won his fifth straight Sunday, holding off 6-5 favorite Crafty Shaw and Windward Passage in the $100,000 Razorback Handicap (gr. III) at Oaklawn Park.

The 4-year-old Illinois-bred chestnut colt by Tour d'Oro, ridden by Luis Quinonez, defeated Crafty Shaw by a neck, with Windward Passage a head back in third. The final time in the 1 1/16-mile Razorback was 1:43 2/5 on a fast track.

Trained by Noel Hickey, Colorful Tour had things his way through early fractions of :23 2/5, :47 flat and 1:11 4/5 for six furlongs. That left him prepared for the long stretch run, whichhe needed to hold off the serious challenge of Crafty Shaw, who was third at the head of the stretch, and fast-closing Windward Passage.

Winner of the Essex Handicap (gr. III) in his last effort at Oaklawn on Feb. 22, Colorful Tour has now won 10 of 16 lifetime races with earnings of more than $450,000.

Colorful Tour defeated Crafty Shaw in the Essex by 3 1/4 lengths. Crafty Shaw was fourth that day, but was forced to take up early and raced five-wide at the quarter pole.

Sent off the 9-5 second choice in the field of seven, the winner paid $5.80, $2.80 and $2.40. Crafty Shaw returned $2.60 and $2.20. Windward Passage's show was worth $2.60.
