Gold Mover won her second straight $100,000 Hurricane Bertie Handicap on Sunday, beating favorite Harmony Lodge by 3 1/2 lengths at Gulfstream Park.
Ridden by Edgar Prado, Gold Mover was timed in 1:15 4-5 in the 6 1/2 -furlong test for fillies and mares.
Gold Mover drew away from Harmony Lodge and jockey Pat Day at the eighth pole after dueling with that one through early fractions of :22 2/5 and :44 2/5. The 5-year-old avenged a loss to Harmony Lodge in last month's Shirley Jones Handicap at Gulfstream.
Gold Mover, owned and bred by Edward Evans, has 12 victories and 23 in-the-money performances in 27 starts and career earnings of $1,140,530. Mark Hennig trains the 5-year-old daughter of Gold Fever.
The winner, an even-money favorite, paid $4.60, 2.40 and $2.10. Harmony Lodge placed at $2.40 and 2.10 and Belterra, with Jose Santos aboard, was nearly eight lengths behind the winner, paying $2.10 to show.
