Headed by Cherokee's Boy, a field of 11 has been entered for Sunday's Gotham Stakes (gr. III) at Aqueduct, a traditional prep for the track's grade I Wood Memorial on April 12.
Since racing at Aqueduct is still on the inner track due to inclement weather that has impacted the main track, the Gotham will be run at 1-mile-and-70-yards around two turns. It was initially scheduled for 1 mile around one turn on the main track.
Maryland-based Cherokee's Boy, a multiple stakes winner with earnings of more than $309,00, is seeking his third consecutive victory in the Gotham.
The field, in post position order (with jockeys and weight), for the Gotham, which will be shown live on ESPN2 beginning at 4:30 p.m. (Eastern), is:
1--Midnight Charlie, Heberto Castillo Jr., 116
2--Grey Comet, Aaron Gryder, 120
