Nominations for Fasig-Tipton's Kentucky July select, Saratoga select, and New York-bred preferred yearling sales were "comparable" to last year's figures as of March 12, according to Fasig-Tipton executive Boyd Browning. The total for the three auctions combined stood at 3,288, which "is slightly encouraging because of the impact of MRLS (mare reproductive loss system)," said Browning, who serves as the company's executive vice president and chief operating officer.

The closing date for all three sales was listed as Jan. 31, but "we're still continuing to receive and solicit nominations, just as we've always done in the past," Browning said. "We're getting new nominations every day."
