California graded stakes winner Lil Sister Stich has been retired, and is currently at Gary and Marlene Howard's Hideaway Farm near San Jacinto, Calif. A decision will be made whether she'll be sold or stay with her current owners and be bred this year. Lil Sister Stich hasn't raced since finishing unplaced in the Franks Farms Filly & Mare Turf at Gulfstream Park on Jan. 25.

"She didn't have a great trip down to Florida," Gary Howard said, "but we brought her back and she was in training at San Luis Rey Downs and put in a little easy half-mile work before a slight suspensory (problem) popped up. It wasn't anything serious and we certainly could have brought her back, but we don't like to push too hard so we decided to just go ahead and retire her."

Six-year-old Lil Sister Stich, who was bred by the Howards, won eight of 19 races and earned $329,835. Her four stakes wins include a score in last year's Monrovia Handicap (gr. IIIT).
Howard said that if Lil Sister Stich isn't sold, he and his partners, Jack Koser and Paul Kilgore, will maintain the partnership and have her bred.
