Ken and Sarah Ramsey's Ten Cents a Shine, who finished a disappointing sixth in the Fountain of Youth Stakes (gr. I), turned in his first workout for new trainer D. Wayne Lukas at Santa Anita Park on Monday.

The 3-year-old son of Devil His Due worked five furlongs over a fast track in :59.40 handily. It was the second fastest of 15 moves at the distance.

While with trainer Ken McPeek, Ten Cents a Shine won two of four starts, including an allowance race at Gulfstream before the Fountain of Youth in a dead heat with Senor Swinger. As a juvenile Ten Cents a Shine finished second in the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (gr. II) behind Soto.

Lukas is considering running Ten Cents a Shine in Sunday's San Felipe Stakes (gr. II) at Santa Anita.
