Millionaire Riviera to New Zealand

Millionaire Riviera, winner of the 2000 Atto Mile Stakes (Can-IT), has been purchased by Rex and Gerald Fell's Fairdale Stud for stallion duty in New Zealand. The 9-year-old son of Kris out of the Nureyev mare Manureva will stand for $5,000 (plus GST).
Riviera overcame the No. 13 post to win the Atto Mile in 1:33.18. His other stakes wins came in Southern California in the Morvich Handicap (gr. IIIT) and the Wickerr Handicap on grass.
Riviera initially raced in his native France before being sent to the U.S. He was campaigned stateside by Edmund Gann and trained by Bobby Frankel. Riviera retired with 10 wins from 21 starts and earnings of $1,018,535.
