The "mutuel field" was again installed as the 3-1 wagering choice when Pool 2 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager closed Sunday, March 7.
The future wager for the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) consists of 23 individual betting interests and the mutuel field comprised of all other 3-year-olds grouped as a single wagering interest.
In a release, Churchill Downs reported that $355,853, including $86,547 in exacta wagers, was bet during the three days that Pool 2 was open. The final KDFW will take place March 26-28. There is win and exacta wagering only in the KDFW and not scratches or refunds.

In the only future wagering pool for the Kentucky Oaks (gr. I), the Kentucky Oaks Future Wager saw Blind Luck emerge as the 4-1 favorite, edging out Amen Hallelujah at 6-1 and Christine Daae at 7-1. The mutuel field, consisting of all other 3-year-old fillies other than the 23 individuals on which wagers were taken, closed at 7-1 odds.
