Aqueduct Delays Opening of Main Track

Because of the poor weather conditions this winter, the New York Racing Association announced it will delay the opening of Aqueduct Park's main track for racing and until Mar. 14.

"By pushing back the opening from Wednesday to Friday, Jerry Porcelli and his track crew will be able to work on the track all day on Monday and Tuesday of that week which they wouldn't have been able to do otherwise," said Terry Meyocks, NYRA president. Racing will continue on the inner all-weather track during the interim.

First race post time will switch to 1 p.m. on Mar. 12 as scheduled.
