Alyzig and Night Life, who ran first and second for trainer Kristin Mulhall in the Exceller Handicap on Jan. 25, are among the dozen turf runners entered in the $400,000 Frank E. Kilroe Mile (gr. IIT) at Santa Anita Saturday.
Good Journey, winner of the Citation Handicap (gr. IIT) at Hollywood Park on Nov. 30 after a third-place finish in the Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. I) in October, is the 124-pound high weight.
The field includes Western Pride, the 2002 Big 'Cap runner-up.
Juddmonte Farms' Decarchy, the defending Kilroe Mile champion but disappointing since returning to action recently for trainer Bobby Frankel, defends his title. Redattore, winner of the 2001 Eddie Read Handicap (gr. IT) who defeated Lido Palace in last year's San Antonio (gr. II) on dirt, is another top contender Saturday.
Kachamandi, a late-runner who missed winning the Oak Tree Breeders' Cup Mile by a nose in October, gains the services of jockey Jerry Bailey after a narrow loss in the Reb's Policy Feb. 21.
The race will go as the eighth on the Santa Anita card, immediately preceding the Santa Anita Handicap (gr. I).$400,000 Frank E. Kilroe Mile (gr. IIT), 4 & up, 1 mile on turf
