The $300,000 Coolmore Lexington Stakes (gr. II) April 17, one of the last chances for horses to possibly secure enough graded stakes earnings for a spot in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I), has a probable field of 10 as of the morning of April 11, according to Keeneland Racing Secretary Ben Huffman.
Three of the 10 are stakes winners headed by Fantasy Lane Stable’s Uptowncharlybrown , winner of the Pasco Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs and subsequently third in the Sam F. Davis (gr. III) and fifth in the Tampa Bay Derby (gr. III).
Other stakes winners are Estrorace Stable’s Workin for Hops, winner of the Grindstone Stakes at Fair Grounds, and Wertheimer and Frere’s Exhi , victorious in the Rushaway Stakes at Turfway Park.
Other probables for the 1 1/16-mile race on the main track are Call Shot, Chief Counsel, Distorted Dave, Game On Dude, Kettle River, Krypton and Prince Will I Am.
Entries will be taken April 14.
