Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) winner Super Saver drew post 8 and was installed as the 5-2 morning-line favorite for the May 15 Preakness Stakes (gr. I) at Pimlico. A field of 12 was drawn for the second leg of the Triple Crown.

WinStar Farm’s homebred Super Saver will attempt to become the fifth horse in the last 11 years to win both the Derby and the Preakness. Big Brown was the last horse to do it, in 2008. Calvin Borel, who guided Rachel Alexandra to a Preakness victory a year ago, has the mount on Super Saver for trainer Todd Pletcher.
Pletcher will also send out Dogwood Stable’s Aikenite , who drew post 1 and was listed as a 20-1 longshot by Pimlico oddsmaker Frank Carulli. Javier Castellano will ride the son of Yes It's True.
After drawing unfavorable post 1 in the Derby en route to a sixth-place finish as the favorite, Lookin At Lucky will break from post 7 in the Preakness. The three-time grade I winner and last year’s champion 2-year-old male will be ridden by Martin Garcia for the first time. Lookin At Lucky was installed as the 3-1 second choice.
Garcia replaces Garrett Gomez, who this time will ride Dublin (10-1). The seventh-place finisher in the Derby, Dublin drew post 12 for D. Wayne Lukas.
Lukas, attempting to score his sixth Preakness win, will also send out longshot Northern Giant (30-1) from post 4 with Terry Thompson in the irons.
The third choice at 9-2 is Paddy O'Prado , the third-place finisher in the May 1 Derby. Paddy O’Prado drew post 10, just as he did in the Derby when falling 2 3/4 lengths short of Super Saver. Kent Desormeaux will ride Paddy O’Prado for Dale Romans, who also will send out First Dude (20-1) from post 11 with Ramon Dominguez aboard.
Also coming out of the Derby is Jackson Bend (post 6, 12-1) for trainer Nick Zito. Zito won the Preakness in 1996 with Louis Quatorze.
Other newcomers to the Triple Crown scene are Schoolyard Dreams (post 2, 15-1) for trainer Derek Ryan; California-bred gelding Caracortado (post 9, 10-1), Pleasant Prince (post 3, 20-1), and New York-bred Yawanna Twist (post 5, 30-1).
