Heavy Rains Cause Fair Grounds to Cancel

Fair Grounds canceled racing for today because of heavy rains that have hit the New Orleans area.

The track reported that standing water on the track and flooding in the surrounding neighborhood caused by early morning rains has made it impossible to race today.

This is the first time racing has had to be canceled at Fair Grounds since January 1998. Simulcast locations remain open.
