Thirty-four horses, including 25 head consigned by Leprechaun Racing as agent for Stonewall Farm and Related Entities, have been added to the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co.’s June sale of 2-year-olds in training and horses of racing age.
Included among the other nine 2-year-olds that are part of the supplemental catalog is a half sister to 2009 Canadian champion 2-year-old filly Biofuel. The filly, a daughter of Harlan's Holiday produced from Ms. Cornstalk, is also consigned by Leprechaun Racing but is not part of the Stonewall group of horses.
The one-day sale is scheduled for June 15, beginning at 10:30 a.m. (ET) at the OBS sales complex in Ocala, Florida. The 36 supplemental horses, in addition to the 386 juveniles and 13 older horses already cataloged, will be sold at the end of the session. The horses will breeze at the second under tack show session June 13.
The Stonewall horses being added to the sale consist of 20 juveniles and five older horses and are among a group of more than 130 horses that were put under receivership May 26 by order of a Fayette (Kentucky) Circuit Judge. The court appointed Bluewater Sales or Lexington as receiver under an agreement between Fifth Third Bank and Stonewall Stallions and related entities. Fifth Third has sued Stonewall, NeverTell Farm, Audrey Haisfield, Marc Haisfield and related entities for $14.8 million on defaulted loans.
The OBS June sale under tack shows will begin at 8 a.m. June 12-13. The June 12 show will include Hip No.’s 1-200, with Hip No.’s 201-434 breezing June 13.
