Super Fuse Hopes for Spark in Best Turn

C.T. Stable's Super Fuse returns to Aqueduct in search of his fourth stakes win in five starts Saturday in the $75,000 Best Turn Stakes (gr. III).

Super Fuse won the Pasco Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs in his previous start on Jan. 18 for his third stakes win since October. The three-year-old son of Lite the Fuse won the Birdonthewire Stakes at Calder Race Course Oct. 12 for trainer Richard Ciardullo before making his first appearance at in New York a month later.

Super Fuse won the Huntington Stakes at Aqueduct and then returned his stakes assault to Florida. He finished fifth in the Spectacular Bid Stakes (gr. III) in his seasonal bow Jan. 3 but came right back to win the seven-furlong Pasco.

The main challenge could come from Overbrook Farm homebred Desert Warrior. The son of Deputy Minister has not started since finishing 11th in the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (gr. II) at Churchill Downs Nov. 30. His seven previous starts for trainer D. Wayne Lukas included a second in the Gilded Time Stakes at Arlington Park and a third-place finish in the Tremont Stakes (gr. III) at Belmont Park.
