K.K. and Devi Jayaraman's homebred filly, Explosive Beauty, pulled away to a lopsided victory in the $50,000 Martha Washington Stakes on Monday at Oaklawn before the season's largest crowd of 23,253.

Handling the track labeled "good" like a seasoned veteran, the 3-year-old chestnut daughter of Proudest Romeo took command near the head of the stretch and drew off to a 5 3/4-length win over Hannah's Royalrock. The winning six-furlong time was 1:11.10.

The win was the second stakes victory of the meet for Exclusive Beauty. She took the Dixie Belle easily on opening day. Trainer Cole Norman won his third of the afternoon and seventh in two days, giving 21 wins at Oaklawn in 13 racing days.
