Jockey Russell Baze, continuing his torrid start to 2003, won with five of his seven mounts at Golden Gate Fields Feb. 14.

Baze won the first race with Condellone ($2.80 to win), the second with Anstar ($2.60), the third with Miss Angel Face ($16.80), the fifth with Bank Shot ($3.80), and the sixth with Yankee Pirate ($5.60).

Baze has already won 66 races this year, which places him second in the nation in victories behind former Bay Area rider Jason Lumpkins, who has 67 wins. Lumpkins is now based in Kentucky and is riding at Turfway Park.

Baze has led the nation in victories seven times in his Hall of Fame career – in 2002 (431 wins), 2000 (412), 1996 (415), 1995 (448), 1994 (415), 1993 (410), and 1992 (433).
