Woodbine Entertainment Group has announced that Steve Lym has been appointed the company's Thoroughbred racing secretary.

Lym, 34, heads into the position with 20 years of experience in the Thoroughbred racing industry, including a stint as a trainer in the late 1980s and most recently, holding the position of head clocker and Equibase chart caller at Woodbine.

"I'm excited about this new opportunity and challenge," Lym said. "I'm looking forward to maintaining the high standards set by the previous race secretaries here at Woodbine."

Chris Evans, the previous racing secretary, continues his role as Woodbine's Director of Thoroughbred Racing.

Lym's position as head clocker has not been filled.
