Hip 116 Distorted Humor-Angel's Nest Sold for $2,050,000 at the Keeneland Yearling Sales

A strapping son of Distorted Humor   was hammered down for $2,050,000 during the Sept. 13 session of the Keeneland September yearling sale. Bought by agent Mike Ryan on behalf of a new, undisclosed client based overseas, the colt was consigned by Lane’s End, agent.

Ryan said it was undecided whether the colt, who is the third foal out of the unraced Storm Cat mare Angel’s Nest, will start his training in the United States or overseas, where his new owner is located.

“The pedigree speaks for itself…he’s the complete package,” said Ryan of the colt, whose dam is a daughter of European and United States champion Miesque, and a half sister to European champion East of the Moon and group I winner and prominent sire Kingmambo.

“If (the Distorted Humor colt) is as good on the racetrack as we think he could be…the sky is the limit,” said Ryan. “He’s an outstanding physical, and has a pedigree that matches. He’s the complete package.

“The price was in the range (we were expecting). He’s a top horse,” Ryan added of the colt, who was bred in Kentucky by Flaxman Holdings.
