Trainer Darrell Vienna scratched Revenante from Thursday's second race, an optional claiming event at one mile on the turf, in favor of Saturday's $200,000 La Canada Stakes (gr. II) at 1 1/8 miles on the main track.

"We want to try her on the dirt," Vienna said of the 4-year-old Kentucky-bred daughter of Known Fact, whose three career starts have all been on grass, resulting in two victories. "I don't know. It might be crazy. We'll see what happens."

Revenante has a 2-1-0 record from three starts with earnings of $50,474 for owner Red Baron's Barn, LLC.

The field for the 29th running of the La Canada: Sightseek, Pat Valenzuela, 118; Revenante, David Flores, 114; Bare Necessities, Jose Valdivia Jr., 118; Bella Bellucci, Mike Smith, 118; and Got Koko, Alex Solis, 121.
