Dubai Majesty was in the news again, two days after she won the Sentient Jet Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (gr. I) at Churchill Downs. She brought $1.1 million Nov. 7 at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky November select breeding stock sale.
Shunsuke Yoshida signed the sale ticket for his father, Katsumi Yoshida, who owns Northern Farm in Japan.
The 5-year-old daughter of Essence of Dubai was consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent. Shunsuke Yoshida said Dubai she would be retired from racing and sent to Japan to be bred.
Produced from the winning Great Above mare Great Majesty, Dubai Majesty scored her Breeders’ Cup victory for Martin Racing Stable and Dan Morgan. She is a half sister to stakes winner Majestic Dinner (by Formal Dinner).
Gabby's Golden Gal, who finished 10th in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint, brought $1,250,000 from Terry Yoshida’s Japan-based Shadai Farm. A Shadai representative said she would be retired and sent to Japan to be bred.
Consigned by Winter Quarter Farm, agent, Gabby’s Golden Gal scored in the 2009 Acorn Stakes (gr. I) and the 2010 Santa Monica Handicap (gr. I). A homebred who raced for Arnold Zetcher, the dark bay or brown filly is a 4-year-old daughter of Medaglia d'Oro and the Ashkalani mare Gabriellina Giof, who was a stakes winner in Italy and this country.
Gabby’s Golden Gal is a half sister to grade II winner Always a Princess (by Leroidesanimaux).
Grade II winner Gotta Have Her was bought back for $1,050,000. Bluewater Sales, agent, consigned the 6-year-old daughter of Royal Academy out of the unraced Rahy mare Winnowing. She was offered as a racing or broodmare prospect.
