Seattle Hoofer Works Bullet for Risen Star

Stonerside Stable homebred Seattle Hoofer fired a bullet towards the Feb. 16 Risen Star Stakes (gr. III) with a six-furlong breeze in 1:14.00. The move was the fastest of five at the distance Thursday at Fair Grounds.

The son of Seattle Slew will be making his stakes debut in the 1 1/16 mile Risen Star for trainer Michael Stidham. In his only two previous starts Seattle Hoofer won a Dec. 22 maiden special weight contest at 1 1/16 miles and then followed with an eye-catching 5 3/4 length win in his first try against winners on Jan. 17. Both were contested at Fair Grounds.
