Flaxman Holdings' grade 1 winner Good Journey, unraced since winning the Nov. 30 Citation Handicap (gr. IIT) at Hollywood Park, is expected to make his next start in the March 1 Frank E. Kilroe Mile (gr. IIT), according to Aimee Dollase, assistant to her father, Wally. The 7-year-old son of Nureyev worked five furlongs in 1:01 4/5, handily, at Hollywood Park on Wednesday.
According to Dollase, the remainder of Good Journey's career will be brief.
"I think he'll run two, maybe three times more," the younger Dollase said, "and that's it for him. He's heading off to be a stallion down in Australia after that."
Final details of Good Journey's stallion career haven't been finalized, according to Dollase, but it's essentially a done deal. "I'm going to miss him, but he'll have a good life down there."
Overall, Good Journey's record stands at 15-7-4-3, $1,652,997. He also won the Atto Mile (gr. IT), Firecracker Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. IIT) and the 2001 running of the Citation, and finished third in the Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT) back in October.
