Duncan Grimley has resigned as joint general manager of Coolmore's Australian division. He will continue as a consultant.

"The last seven years have been an exciting time, helping Coolmore Australia develop into a pre-eminent position," Grimley said.

"I want to step back from the day-to-day involvement, but I am delighted to accept Coolmore's offer to remain as a consultant," he added.

Michael Kirwan, Grimley's co manager, expressed his thanks to Grimley for the contribution he has made to Coolmore Australia since its inception.

Grimley gained his grounding in bloodstock with the defunct Adelaide sales companies Coles Brothers and the Australian Breeders Co-op, where he worked alongside Vinery director Neil Bowden.
