Gold Fever Filly Quickest at OBS Under-Tack Show

A filly by Forty Niner stallion Gold Fever breezed a quarter-mile in an eye-catching :21 1/5 to top the OBSC selected 2-year-olds in training sale at Calder Race Course on Sunday.

Consigned by Hoby and Layna Kight, the dark bay or brown filly is from the third crop of Grade 1 winner Gold Fever and is the second foal of racing age out of the Tasso mare So Obvious. She was purchased by Kight for $45,000 at the OBS August sale. During the first under-tack show Jan. 27, she breezed an eighth of a mile in :10 2/5.

A filly from the first crop of Exploit and an In Excess filly each breezed an eighth of a mile in :10 2/5 to tie for the fastest moves at the distance.

Consigned by Becky Thomas, agent for Sequel Bloodstock, the dark bay or brown Exploit filly is out of the Grade 3-winning Valid Appeal mare Valid Bonnet. She was purchased by Lakland at last year's Keeneland September sale for $65,000. During the first under-tack show she breezed an eighth in :10 4/5.

The filly by In Excess is consigned by Terry Oliver, agent, and is the first foal of racing age out of the Devil's Bag mare Dealinwiththedevil. She also went an eighth in :10 4/5 Jan. 27.
The OBS select sale commences at noon on Tuesday at Calder Race Course.
