Krone Subs for Chavez in San Vicente

Trainer Wesley Ward replaced Jorge Chavez with Julie Krone aboard Runnin' On Nitro in Saturday's San Vicente Stakes (Gr. II) at Santa Anita.

Chavez was named on the gelded son of Elusive Quality but the jockey suffered an ankle sprain when he was thrown from his mount, If He Hollers, in Thursday's seventh race at Gulfstream Park. He is expected to miss three to five days.

"He's kind of a smallish horse," Ward said of Runnin' On Nitro. "That's why I chose Julie. I was considering P. Val (Pat Valenzuela), but I think Julie fits him better."
