(from track report)Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens, who portrays the late George Woolf in the upcoming Universal film, "Seabiscuit: An American Legend," will resume riding at Santa Anita on Feb. 14.
Stevens owns a major role in the movie, much of which was shot in part at Santa Anita prior to the opening of the winter/spring meeting on Dec. 26.
"Everybody's pretty excited about it," Stevens said of the movie, based on Laura Hillenbrand's best-selling book. "Everything's on schedule, we're almost finished filming and we've got the opening set for the 25th of July. It's been a great experience and I'm really excited about the movie coming out. I'll be back riding on the 14th (of February) and I'm looking forward to that."
Stevens, who turns 40 on March 6, wasn't eager to see the completion of his acting debut. "But if it ends, I've got to on and do something," he said. "It's a situation where I wish it wouldn't end. I've really, really enjoyed it."
