Team Valor and Margaux Farm of Midway, Ky., have purchased 75 percent of San Miguel Stakes (gr. III) winner Omega Code for $1.1 million, Team Valor president Barry Irwin said Friday.
Irwin said the 3-year-old colt has been syndicated for $1.2 million, based on 40 shares sold at $30,000 each.
Wesley Ward will remain as trainer of Omega Code, a $350,000 Florida-bred son of Elusive Quality. Ward will also retain his 25 percent ownership of the colt. The previous owners included Dan Butler (50 percent) and Mike Moore (25 percent) of Dallas.
Team Valor will be the bay colt's racing manager and Margaux will be stallion manager when Omega Code is retired. Irwin said Omega Code would be pointed to the March 1 San Rafael Stakes (gr. II) at one mile.
Omega Code has a 3-1-1 record from five starts, with earnings of $159,990.
