Kulina Honored by New Jersey Sports Writers

Robert Kulina, Monmouth Park's and Meadowlands general manager and vice president of Thoroughbred Racing, will be honored at the 67th New Jersey Sports Writers Association Banquet on Feb. 2 for "Distinguished Service to Thoroughbred Racing."

The banquet honors pro and college athletes and sports personalities from New Jersey and those affiliated with New Jersey via New York-New Jersey area teams. This year's honorees also include Nets coach Byron Scott, NBA Hall-of -Famer Jim Spanarkel, and Nets executive Rod Thorn among others.

Kulina began his career at Monmouth Park in 1972 in the racing office, became the Monmouth Park racing secretary in 1977, director of Thoroughbred Racing at Meadowlands in 1985 and general manager/vice president of Thoroughbred Racing for Monmouth Park and the Meadowlands in 1991.
