Keeneland has cataloged 169 juveniles for its 19th annual April sale of 2-year-olds in training sale, scheduled for 4 p.m. ET, Monday, April 11. A one-day preview show will be held Thursday, April 7, beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Keeneland’s main track.
The April sale has produced such classic winners as Lookin At Lucky , Big Brown , Thunder Gulch, Keeper Hill, and Gal in a Ruckus.
Other graduates include 2010 Jockey Club Gold Cup (gr. I) winner Haynesfield ; Hill ‘n’ Dale Cigar Mile (gr. I) winner Jersey Town , and Gallant Bloom Handicap (gr. II) winner My Jen.
“We are very proud of the April sale’s classic connections, particularly Lookin At Lucky,” said Keeneland director of sales Geoffrey Russell. “To have sold five classic winners from a sale which is still fairly young in stature speaks to the quality of the individuals we offer.”
Lookin At Lucky, last year’s Preakness Stakes (gr. I) winner, was a champion at 2 and 3.
Seventy-two different stallions are represented by April sale juveniles, highlighted by a colt from the last crop of Storm Cat.
Beginning Monday, Feb. 21, horsemen can access the interactive April sale catalog online at www.keeneland.com. Print catalogs will be mailed the first week of March.
Keeneland will provide live streaming of the entire April sale as well as the under-tack Preview Show at www.keeneland.com.
