The Dubai World Cup committee has issued more than 80 invitations for the March 29 World Cup races at Nad Al Sheba Race Course in the United Arab Emirates. The second round of nominations closed Jan. 15 with 1,401 horses, representing 25 countries, being nominated to one of the seven World Cup series races.

The Dubai World Cup Classic, sponsored by Emirates Airline, attracted 198 nominations from 13 countries, with the United States have the most representation with 82 followed by the UAE with 61.

Among horses receiving invites were 2002 Horse of the Year Azeri, champion 3-year-old male finalist Medaglia d' Oro, grade I winners Xtra Heat, Harlan's Holiday and Congaree, and grade II winner Repent.
