The Breeders’ Cup was an honoree of the 15th annual Webby Awards in the sports category for its Breeders’ Cup Mobile App at the 2010 Breeders’ Cup World Championships.
With nearly 10,000 entries received from all 50 states and more than 60 countries, the official honoree distinction is awarded to the top 10% of all work entered that exhibits remarkable achievement.
The Webby Awards is an international award honoring excellence on the Internet. Established in 1996, the Webbys are presented by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, which includes an executive 750-member body of leading Web experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries, creative celebrities, and associate members who are former Webby award winners, nominees, and other Internet professionals.
The Webby Awards presents two honors in every category--the Webby Award and the People's Voice Award--in each of its four entry types: websites; interactive advertising; online film and video; and mobile and apps. Members of The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences select the nominees for both awards in each category, as well as the winners of the Webby Awards, while the online community determines the winners of the People's Voice award.
