Monday's third race at Gulfstream Park was a hunch player's delight on Martin Luther King Day.
Dancing King, with Dante Scocca riding, won the $25,000 claiming race for 3-year-old colts and geldings at 17-1. But that wasn't all. Father Martin, with Rene Douglas was second, with My Dream and Edgar Prado third. Fourth was Honorable King.
Dancing King went gate-to-wire in a six-furlong time of 1:10.85 for owner D.L. Miller and trainer Christine Wasilewski, paying $36.60, $12.40 and $4.40. Father Martin returned $4.80 and $3. My Dream, the 9-5 favorite, paid $2.60 for the show. The $2 exacta was $143.20. The $2 trifecta: $625.80. There was no superfecta wagering.
