Forbidden Apple to Stand for $5,000

Millionaire Forbidden Apple, who will return home to enter stud at Arthur I. Appleton's Bridlewood Farm near Ocala, Fla., will begin his stallion career for $5,000. The 8-year-old son of Pleasant Colony is scheduled to close out his career in the Jan. 25 Sunshine Millions Turf at Santa Anita.

An Appleton homebred and trained throughout his career by Christophe Clement, Forbidden Apple has won eight of 30 starts and earned $1,623,280. His four stakes wins came in the Manhattan Handicap (gr. IT), consecutive runnings of the Kelso Handicap (gr. IIT), and the Belmont Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. IIT). His eight stakes-placings include a runner-up effort in the Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT) and third-place showing in the Arlington Million Stakes (gr. IT).

Forbidden Apple, who was produced from the Northfields mare North Of Eden, is a half-brother to grade I winners Wild Event and Paradise Creek. The latter earned an Eclipse Award as top turf male.
